The Caucasian Shepherd (Caucasian Ovcharka) can reach 200 pounds, a size that can unsettle newcomers. Properly led it becomes loyal and steady. Males live about 10–12 years and hail from Russia and nearby regions. Bred to guard and drive herds, it is powerful and bold. Without early training and social contact that confidence can shift into dangerous aggression.
