4. Acts as a Deodorant



Because it absorbs odors so well baking soda appears in many deodorant formulas and in open boxes placed in bathrooms or freezers. The effect comes from reducing acidic byproducts created when skin bacteria break down sweat. Sweat itself has no smell. While baking soda does not halt the process it softens the odor. In a pinch dab a little under your arms as a natural temporary deodorant.
