6. Soothes Itchy Skin and Sunburn



Baking soda can calm several minor skin irritations. It is especially helpful for persistent itching or the sting from insect bites. Mix it with water into a thick paste and apply to the spots. For widespread sunburn discomfort prepare a warm not hot bath and add one or two teaspoons of baking soda. Soak at least 30 minutes ensuring affected areas are covered. Some evidence suggests adding cornstarch and oatmeal may further support soothing and recovery.
