4. Winter hat versus cap

For winter hats, if not worn daily, washing once every two months—about three times per season—is sufficient. Most can go in the machine, but always review the care label for specific guidance.
Caps call for gentler handling. Hand wash them twice yearly in cold water to avoid stains and preserve their shape and color.
