3. Russia and Lithuania



Border: Spit of Curonian Gross Domestic Product (GDP) estimates: $133 billion (Lithuania) or $4.148 trillion (Russia) at 298 km2. Beautifully situated, the Curonian Spit forms a natural boundary between Lithuania and Russia's Kaliningrad area. This small peninsula of sand dunes, which stretches to a distance of around 98 kilometres, is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site because of its distinctive and ever-changing scenery. It is home to charming fishing communities, thick woodlands, and ethereal sand dunes.
